My husband changed our gas furnace to just fan mode for the summer and now we need to change it to heat... how?

it's an old Airco furnace and has a toggle switch that says off/on and a push button for manual or auto. What setting do I need for heat!? We also have a light switch type outside our furnace room to turn the fan on and off in the summer. I know that has to be off for heat but I don't know the rest of the settings... Thanks!My husband changed our gas furnace to just fan mode for the summer and now we need to change it to heat... how?Since this is an old one I'd suggest you contact Olsen Airco for your issue. The link is below.

Good luck for a warm winter.My husband changed our gas furnace to just fan mode for the summer and now we need to change it to heat... how?Wow, not sure about this one. I'm no pro but I'm guessing that the on/off %26quot;toggle%26quot; switch and manual/auto %26quot;push button%26quot; are at the thermostat along with a dial to set the temperature.

In my furnace room, the %26quot;light switch%26quot; thing controls the whole thing, if OFF, nothing will work. Just on a hunch, try this:

1) %26quot;Light switch%26quot; at the furnace room - turn it %26quot;ON%26quot;

2) %26quot;Toggle switch%26quot; for Off/On - set it to %26quot;ON%26quot;

3) %26quot;Push button%26quot; for manual/auto - set it to %26quot;AUTO%26quot;

4) At the thermostat, turn the dial setting up high, maybe 80 deg.

Hang out by the furnace and see if anything happens. If it comes on, you're good to go. Just adjust the thermostat dial to a comfortable setting.

The part that really confuses me is the light switch at the furnace room. Mine is on year round and heat / cool are controlled by switches something like your toggle and push button. Good luck.My husband changed our gas furnace to just fan mode for the summer and now we need to change it to heat... how?heat should run whether the fan switch is on or off. You turn your tstat to auto and crank it up. your furnace should kick right on. You can also check if your pilot light is on, check the fuse box, the gas is on and check the reset button too ( little red button around the circutboard). If this wont troubleshoot you then i recommend you call a hvac tech, he'll charge you between 120 and 300 bux and will take him around 10 minutes to diagnose. Do Not start playing with the internal components, a furnace deals with combustible air and gases that would be deadly if mishandled.
