What does your school do to save energy?

We are trying to figure our how our school can become a greener school, we need to find ways to save energy.

So far we got

changing to laptops instead of dino computer

Trying to change light bulbs (what kind though)

Dim lights more

Switching most of our electronics to solar power

Closing doors to save the heat

Making posters to remind students and teachers to turn off lights in classrooms after they are done.

Any other ideas? What does your school do to save energy?Increasing class size, and eliminating classes that only a few sign up for. The reason they did this is more for $ green that eco green, but it does have that affect. It takes the same amount of light to have a full class than it does a mostly empty one. Heating a room full of people takes a lot less energy than a big room with only a few people.

The student council has funded a bicycle place. The area is sheltered and secure. Bicycle mechanics give clinics and safety classes. There are tools and people to help make sure your bike is in good shape. Bike lockers can be used for a day or rented for the year.

Painting the buildings. Dark buildings need more lights at night. White walls reflect light so more energy efficient bulbs may be used. What does your school do to save energy?nothing :(
