How can i easily separate two light fixtures that were originally wired together?

We just changed the fixtures in my in laws kitchen. There were two florescent fixtures now there is one and one ceiling fan where the other was. They would like to be able to turn off the florescent light while leaving on the ceiling fan. Problem: They are wired to the same wall switch. Is there a remote switch or something we can put on the florescent fixture? How can i easily separate two light fixtures that were originally wired together? You can add a pull switch to the light.

Otherwise, if the line feed comes in to the fan box, you can put the pull switch on the fan and use the wall switch to control the light.

The other option is to rewire with a 3 wire +ground from the switch and replace the switch with a duplex switch, one for the fan and one for the light.
