I have a Delta scroll saw. The switch is a variable speed and it is out of commission. When I turn on the saw, in revs up to full speed and then back to lowest speed in a ten second interval and repeats. A replacement for this part is over 150 dollars. Is there a way to bypass the whole switch and change it to a light switch or something similar? I realize I would loose the variable speed, but at least the scroll saw would work again. How to bypass a variable speed switch on a scroll saw?Absolutely.
hardest part will be getting the case open, and getting a switch mounted to the case in a safe, reliable manner.
would just need to cut out the old switch and attach wires to the new one.
