How to retrieve taillights on 1997 Jeep Cherokee Country?

I recently changed the headlight switch on my 1997 Jeep Cherokee Country a few hours ago. Now, I have low beam lights but no taillights unless I jiggle the pull switch. Which gets me taillights and no headlights! What am I doing wrong?How to retrieve taillights on 1997 Jeep Cherokee Country?if it was a junk yard part it's trash, go get a new switch and try again.
