How can i stop my tv remote controlling my lights!?!?!?

i have a touch sensitive light switch which you can also buy remote controls for, however for some reason my tv remote works with it and every time i try to change the channel it turns them off and then back on again which is incredibly annoying is there any way i can stop the remote from doing this ?How can i stop my tv remote controlling my lights!?!?!?hell y would u want to change it?!?
