How do i change the reversing light switch on my gearbox (1996 Ford Escort)?

I have got the part - and it didn't look that difficult so I thought I would give it a go - but when i was undoing the second star bolt oil started leaking out. Is that supposed to happen? If yes, then I supppose I will have to put some back in? And where does it go in? Sorry for being such a car n00b! :D

AaronHow do i change the reversing light switch on my gearbox (1996 Ford Escort)?Your fine just replace the switch and if it is an automatic transmission just add what you lost back down the transmission dip stick and if its a manual transmission just add what you lost back in the filler hole...
